Für unseren international tätigen Großkunden aus der Luftfahrt, suchen wir einen erfahrenen K9 Manager (m/w) in Middle East.

The purpose of the K9 Manager (m/w) is to ensure that the K9 section (drug & explosive detection dogs) located at the Airport are comprehensively trained and are fit for purpose at all times.

Key Tasks and Activities

  • Participate in risk workshops as required.
  • Provide security advice, recommendations and support to the relevant Manager.
  • Attend and contribute to team, project, client and third party meetings as required.
  • Provide advice to project teams on planned logistics arrangements.

Accountabilities

  • The K9M has primary responsibility for the managing the K9 Section and all personnel employed within the K9 Section at the Airport.
  • The K9M will liaise with the Aviation Security Manager (ASM) to provide support from the K9 section to work in arrival, departures, Cargo and the general airport area as requested.
  • The K9M will report to the ASM at the Airport.
  • The K9M will be required to work a normal working week however; additional work will be required out of hours to assess, train and test the K9 handlers or as directed by the ASM.
  • The K9M will have reporting responsibilities for the K9 section trainers and all handlers in the K9 section.Reports will be raised as directed by the ASM.
  • In addition to the reporting and liaising accountabilities, the K9M will be required to adhere to (and suggest enhancements and improvements to) security policies, procedures and protocols in regard to the efficient use of the dog section.
  • The K9M will work closely with all operational managers as directed by the ASM.
  • The K9M will be responsible for the day to day management of the dog kennels, office and associated stores.
  • The K9M will be responsible for the supervision, training, assessing and monitoring of the drug and explosive K9 handlers employed at the airport.
  • The K9M will be responsible for the day to day supervision and training of the individual K9 handlers in the section and keep timely and up to date training records on both the K9 handlers and the dogs they are assigned.
  • The K9M will be responsible for the correct recording, use and storage of all training aids and equipment.He will pay particular attention to the storage and use of pseudo and explosive training aids with the aim of avoiding any cross contamination.
  • The K9M will review the K9 Section SOPs on arrival in post, update SOPs as necessary and then review on an annual basis or as directed by the ASM at the Airport.

Skills, Experience and Capabilities

  • Have trained as a K9 handler and successfully completed a recognized training scheme (specified; military, police, civilian).
  • Have a minimum of five years security experience in an airport environment or a similar high security venue.
  • Had previous management experience of running and training a drug and explosive detection K9 section.
  • Hold the relevant qualification in relation to their specialized field or role specific.
  • Will hold HMG Security Clearance (CTC)/CRB check in place.
  • Establish and maintain effective working liaison with all Stakeholders.
  • Define and implement security processes, ensuring compliance with ICAO standards, Annex 17.
  • Ensure security related relationships with Key Stakeholders are effectively built and fully maintained.
  • Direct all aspects of Communications, Operational Security and Change Management.

 In addition:

  • Ability to motivate and energise staff by building a climate of trust and understanding and actively seeking alternative views and opinions.
  • Excellent organisational and security management skills.
  • Excellent presentation, organisation and communication skills at all levels, from operative to client, in an appropriate manner, coupled with diplomacy.
  • Ability to write concise and factual Reports.
  • Extensive experience in the management of a large scale security operation.
  • Experience of operating in a high security environment.
  • Experience of managing and investigation of security related incidents.
